Solar Engineering & Technical Product Manager

PURPOSE: (Brief statement of purpose and main objectives of the position) Identify fit for purpose trends of new products and contribute to the internal development of new renewable energy systems, and applications.
This position will be responsible for coordinating the design of photovoltaic / solar and energy storage systems and best practices development. This role will require having a deep understanding of the solar industry and applying this knowledge to the intricacies of creating the appropriate systems based on end user requirements.
The incumbent will collaborate with the Sales and Installation partners to develop the right system for each client.
The role will require knowledge of a variety of sustainability topics, the ability to partner across diverse business divisions, and an inquisitive mindset. The ultimate success of this role will be dependent on strategic and collaborative engagement with a broad group of internal and external stakeholders.
KEY OBJECTIVE: To succeed in this role, the successful incumbent will function as an expert in the design and knowledge of solar related equipment, panels, inverters, mounting structures and monitoring. The ability to work with a team of highly focused individuals to a final goal and balance the dual needs of Sales and Operations is essential at this level.
The ability to be detail-oriented with system design is a must; the ideal incumbent will be able to manage a large volume of projects while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
This includes the designing of renewable energy systems, accurately predict project costings, accurately calculating system productions and ensuring the designed systems are robust in operation. The Solar Engineering & Technical Product Manager must continually keep up to date with new technological developments in the Solar PV and Energy Storage Industry making sure the company remains at the forefront of innovative customized solutions to be offered to their clients.
