Job Description WSP is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join the Water Infrastructure and Design Division within the Mine Engineering Business Unit.This person will be responsible for the design, drawing and construction monitoring of infrastructure projects.Duties and Responsibilities: Design, drawing and construction monitoring of infrastructure projects including: Open Chanel Flow hydraulics Storm Water Designs Earthworks modelling Water balance development Undertake planning, engineering design work and supervision of construction as required and as directed by Project Leaders or Engineers Prepare cost estimates Ensure all designs and drawings are properly documented and checked Construction administration skills Attend site and other meetings, to action times timeously and effectively Achieve minimum financial productivity on all projects Ensure effective systems are implemented for good record keeping – files, reports, drawings, construction date etc.Liaise with other staff working on projects at all levels Assist with contract administration including preparation of certificates and "as built" drawings, construction dates etc.Ensure suitability of technical proposals Compile letters, reports and prepare tender documentation Provide service excellence Compliance with Quality Management System Contribution to efficiency and effectiveness of sector The candidate must be able to undertake and review associated works designs and demonstrate a sound technical knowledge of contract and construction procedures.(The candidate must demonstrate highly specialised design) The position is head office based, however the successful candidate must be prepared and free to travel extensively both within South Africa and within the African Continent to values and ensuring a safe working environment is maintained at all times Qualifications BEng/BSc/BTech – Civil Engineer Degree Minimum 8-10– years' experience minimum Professionally Registered Civil 3D and Civil Designer AutoCAD experience will be beneficial At least 6 years' experience with storm water design PC SWWM, GoldSim, HEC RAS simulation software will be an advantage MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook , MS Projects Key Competencies and Generic Skills: The employee has well developed general technical skills.Takes direction from and supports intermediate and
