Software Development Manager (Supplementary Systems: Information Technology)

Responsibilities:* To identify new IT technology opportunities and manage IT software development projects, focusing on the maintenance, development and implementation of modern software systems for the organization.* Initiate and oversee IT software development projects by evaluating and monitoring business priorities., determining IT priorities and effectively allocating tasks to IT programmes while optimizing IT resources.* Coordinate and plan IT software development projects, including the approval and finalization of technical specifications.* Oversee testing and implementation of IT software development projects* Collaborate with business units on IT software development initiatives.Qualifications:* Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification or experience in IT software development* Background in financial accounting, either through qualifications or experience* Proficiency in MS Projects or comparable project management tools* At least 10 years of experience in software development* A minimum of 3 years in a management role or similar experience in IT Sofware development projectsSkills:* Strong communication skills in Afrikaans and English* Excellent organizational and project management abilities* Proven experience in developing user and software integration interfaces is essential* Familiarity with Sofware development in COBOL and IBMi operating system is advantage* Previous experience in an agriculture business environment is plus* Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a team
