Software Development Manager (Supplementary Systems: Information Technology)

Responsibilities: To identify new IT technology opportunities and manage IT software development projects, focusing on the maintenance, development and implementation of modern software systems for the organization. Initiate and oversee IT software development projects by evaluating and monitoring business priorities., determining IT priorities and effectively allocating tasks to IT programmes while optimizing IT resources. Coordinate and plan IT software development projects, including the approval and finalization of technical specifications. Oversee testing and implementation of IT software development projects Collaborate with business units on IT software development initiatives. Qualifications: Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification or experience in IT software development Background in financial accounting, either through qualifications or experience Proficiency in MS Projects or comparable project management tools At least 10 years of experience in software development A minimum of 3 years in a management role or similar experience in IT Sofware development projects Skills: Strong communication skills in Afrikaans and English Excellent organizational and project management abilities Proven experience in developing user and software integration interfaces is essential Familiarity with Sofware development in COBOL and IBMi operating system is advantage Previous experience in an agriculture business environment is plus Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a team
