Job Description Anticipated Contract Length/End Date: 3 months with potential to extend Work set-up: Hybrid (2-3 days in-office), open to Cape Town or Johannesburg Our client in the advertising and marketing industry is looking for a Social Media Manager to be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing social media strategies to enhance brand visibility, engage with audiences, and drive business growth.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong content creation skills, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and the ability to analyse performance metrics to optimize campaigns.
What you will do: Create and execute comprehensive social media strategies that align with the company's marketing objectives and target audience.
Develop and manage engaging content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Meta, X, TikTok and LinkedIn.
Monitor and engage with social media audiences, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Plan and execute social media campaigns, including paid advertising and promotions, to drive traffic, engagement, and conversions.
Track, analyse, and report on social media performance metrics using tools such as Google Analytics, social media insights, and other analytics platforms.
Provide actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to keep the company's social media presence relevant and competitive.
Work closely with the marketing team, graphic designers, and content creators to ensure cohesive branding and messaging across all social media channels.
Represent and advocate for the company's brand voice and values across social media platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with overall brand strategy.
Qualifications Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, or social campaign management.
Retail and e-commerce experience is required.
Experience in agency environment is strongly preferred.
Client facing and/or client management experience is required.
Proficiency in social media platforms particularly, Meta, X, TikTok and LinkedIn.
Hands-on experience in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer), and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
Experience with tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar is a plus.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret social media metrics and generate actionable insights.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and persuasive content.
Innovative thinker with the ability to generate creative ideas and solutions for social media campaigns.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Ability to work independently with little hand holding if needed.
