Job Purpose: The purpose of the Skills Development Programme Manager is to develop and implement the Skills Development programmes for Discovery and its business units, aligned to business objectives, the skills and capability agenda, as well as the BBBEE Transformation Plan. The role is also responsible for ensuring Discovery's regulatory compliance as it pertains to Skills Development while facilitating the development and implementation of Discovery's Skills Development Strategy.
Key Outputs may include but are not limited to:Managing the delivery of the EE Plan Graduate Development Programme, ensuring project objectives and business requirements are met.Support the centre of excellence with updating the Group wide Skills Development Standards, Frameworks and Policies.Ensure that Skills Development deliverables are completed efficiently and professionally.Coordinate the Group's Sector Skills Plan, Skills Gap Analysis, Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Reporting Process.Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Responsible for data management and clean-ups (i.e. Course Update Process).Manage the embedment and future enhancements of the Skills Development DataMart and Reporting Tools for the Discovery Group.Manage the Financial Year End Skills Development verification process with Internal and External Audit.RFQ for Learnership Training Provider to be contracted by end November for programme to start in January 2025.Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for ~80 Learners by end November 2024.Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for ~50 Interns by end December 2024.Implement PWD Programme by October 2024.SETA Admin for two SETAs.Annual review of the Policies, Procedures & SOPs for review and sign off by SDM, GSDM and Group Head of Talent & Performance.Preparation for WSP & ATR.Skills Development 'Capture Interface' Implementation and embedment.Dashboard Design & Management.General: Support the Group Skills Development Manager with ad hoc requests.Conduct education and needs evaluation to assess the skills development needs of the organisation.Responsible for arranging and/or conducting masterclasses for the Graduates, Interns and Learners.Decisions:Involving the correct stakeholders.Make decisions related to project roadmap and timelines.Assign RAG statuses and communicate to relevant parties.Escalation of any concerns or risks.Manage Project Budget.Stakeholder Management.Work Experience: Required: At least 5 – 7 years' experience in Skills Development.5 – 7 years' experience in Project Management in a corporate environment.3 - 5 years' experience in Data Analysis.Proven experience in managing Projects & Programmes.Proven experience in the design, development and implementation of a Graduate Development Programme.Preferred (would be advantageous): Experience in Power BI.Experience in Data Science / Data Mining and Analytics.Experience in SQL.Education / Qualifications / Accreditations with Professional Body: Required: Relevant 3-year Degree and/or Post Graduate Qualification.Preferred (would be advantageous): Project Management Qualification.A formal Project Management Qualification / Training Course is preferential.Technical Skills or Knowledge: Required: Extensive Project Management Knowledge.Knowledge of SA Skills Development Legislation.Impactful presentations.Advanced PowerPoint.Advanced Excel.Skills Development Consulting Skills.Data analysis synthesis.Data quality and data governance concepts.Preferred (would be advantageous): Knowledge of INSETA & BANKSETA systems and processes.Personal Attributes or Competency Profile: The Discovery Person: Values Driven.Learns on the Fly.Resilient.Instils Trust.People Savvy.Drives Results.The Discovery Leader: Are inspirational leaders who live the values and believe in the core purpose.Are humble.Treat others with care, dignity and respect.Ensure that the business case prevails.Have a bias for action.Understand that people are Discovery's greatest asset.Build an environment for optimal performance.Set ambitious goals and implement the highest standards.Are students and masters of communication.Never stop learning.Have and express strong beliefs and views, yet are open-minded and support the chosen path.EMPLOYMENT EQUITY
