COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Our client, a manufacturer, supplier and installer of specialist equipment, is looking for a Site Manager (Electrical) to join their team.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and control the daily operations, from the design stage, through to the completion and handover of the project to the client. Day-to-day management of operations on site, ensuring that the project is brought to a successful completion and meets the required time, budget, and quality constraints. Coordinate employee schedules, ensuring adequate coverage / Carry out toolbox briefings to the site teams and sub-contractors. Plan and efficiently organise the site facilities and logistics, ensuring all equipment on site is for purpose and only operated by appropriately trained staff. Supervise, manage, and motivate all site teams including effective management of sub-contractors' activities on site ensuring they are engaged on target and in line with the master programme. Enforce all workforce policies. Coordinate training and professional development activities for employees. Conduct staff performance reviews. Maintain and adhere to Project budgets. Address and report safety concerns promptly. Track and monitor project progress, adhering to prearranged standards. Ensure compliance across the work site. Review all project contracts before submitting them to Project Manager. Answer inquiries from potential project partners. Mediate on-site conflict. Prepare and submit bi-monthly progress reports. Establish a project plan detailing date of shipping, materials on site, start date for installation, day to day activity required to completion, commissioning & handover to customer. Issue estimated timeline of installation to Client Logistics, Company Finance, and Logistics & Service Division. Monitor material deliveries to ensure scheduled timelines are met. Develop forms and records to document project activities. Check materials & equipment prior to shipping, as per B.O.Q. and functionality. Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality. Help create a working environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and motivated in accordance with the Company policies and procedures with particular reference to equality and diversity. Perform other related duties as required. Project Planning: Define the scope of the project and costing model in collaboration with senior management (Project Manager). Upon order confirmation, brief draftsman adequately to provide technical drawings and any changes leading up to final design with specifications of equipment. Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project. Manage the timeline for each project accurately with appropriate resources. Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities. Breakdown of allowable cost, quantity, and order date & date of delivery project timeline & issue to procurement to start ordering process. Issue final Bill of Material / quantities. Work in close collaboration with Finance Division to control costs for each project. Staff Management: In consultation with the appropriate line manager or managing director, recruit, interview and select project staff with appropriate skills for the project activities. Manage staff ensuring completion of contract in relevant timeframe. Resolve any staff disputes (project team) and carry out any necessary disciplinary, according to Company policies and practices. Plan and execute site preparation by managing both external and internal resources. Coordination and monitoring of mounting, installation, startup, and training. Comply and enforce with all company quality, safety, health, environment and legal policies and procedures. Ensure that all project personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the project. Identify any weaknesses in the team & staff training required. Contract qualified consultants to work on the project as appropriate. Enquiries & Tenders: Assist with TENDERING Processes – including designs, costing, and timelines. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to prepare full proposals for prospective clients. Ensure all relevant documentation for bid proposals is complete and accurate. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12. Relevant tertiary qualification. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Minimum of 4 years of specific experience of HVAC / Bio Containment within medical laboratory environment or similar. Minimum of 5 years Electrical installation experience – familiarity with RSA electrical codes. Experience and sound knowledge of project management principles. Experience in managing projects including risk management, problem solving and project analysis skills. Thorough understanding of project management phases, techniques, and tools. Knowledge of general industry terminology e.g., EN 12469, NSF 49, ISO 14644, microbiology advantageous. Excellent organisational, interrelation, and interpersonal skills. Experience in managing large scale electrical projects. Extensive report-writing skills. Computer literate (MS Office, Internet etc.). Good communication skills (verbal and written). Valid driver's license and passport. Budget management experience. Willingness to work a flexible schedule (nights and weekends, as needed). Willing to travel for periods out of the country up to 6 weeks. Sound knowledge in health and safety on site.
