My client, a leading and well-known FMCG Company based in Saldanha on the West Coast (120 km from Cape Town), requires a competent and qualified Site Engineering Manager to join their team. This position reports to the Head of Engineering and SHE.
JOB PURPOSE: The role involves overseeing and leading project management, asset lifecycle management, equipment performance, safety, and environmental stewardship. This position requires a blend of technical and managerial skills and excellent communication and organisational abilities.
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS and COMPETENCIES: Bachelors/BTech degree in Engineering or equivalent Strong technical background with hands-on experience Trade-tested artisan is advantageous GGC (factories), or working towards, is highly advantageous Six years of experience in leading technical teams Eight years of experience within the FMCG Industry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams Proficient in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques Demonstrated ability to deliver projects within scope, budget, and timeframe successfully Structured problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in engineering Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards SA Citizens only Must be Criminal Clear Must reside on the West Coast or be willing to relocate to Vredenburg/Langebaan. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives. Ensure timely and successful project delivery, adhering to scope, budget, and timeframe constraints. Develop and implement engineering processes and best practices to streamline workflows. Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment to encourage knowledge-sharing and professional growth. Manage and optimise resource allocation to maximise efficiency and productivity. Provide technical expertise and guidance, resolving technical challenges and driving innovation. Continuously monitor and evaluate team performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
