Hire Resolve is currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a reputable construction company in Johannesburg, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing various building projects in the area, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.ResponsibilitiesCoordinates the technical control aspects on contracts; controls and interprets cost data.Advises on technical interpretation of specification requirements; may represent the company with consulting engineers in matters of variance and claims on sites where there is no quantity surveyor. Reports to Site Agent.Ensures the correct quality requirements are met.Checks setting out, levels, plumbness, squareness, and the correct materials are used in the correct place.Ensures the correct standard of finish is achieved by staff and subcontractors.Ensures area is run in a safe manner and knows what to do if there is an accident.Has a basic understanding of the OHS Act and ensures the correct safety inspections are carried out.Maintains a logical filing system and ensures correct paperwork is done.Communicates effectively with the team, supervisor, client representatives, subcontractors, and suppliers.Manages time effectively and assists the professional team by providing information timeously.Understands and applies basic HR & IR procedures.Understands the basics of construction and reads and understands all drawings.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Site Engineer in the building construction industry.Proficiency in AutoCAD and other construction software.Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Valid driver's license.Registration with relevant professional bodies is a plus.Benefits:Salary negotiable.Our client is offering a highly competitive salary for this role based on experience.Contact Hire Resolve for your next career-changing move.
