Role OverviewThe Service Specialist will be responsible for the operations of all complex shipments allocated to them, from the initiation of transaction, right to completion through building customised import solutions for clients in various industries. The Service Team is the engine room of the business and the overall goal is to provide efficient and effective service delivery to clients.The Service Specialist will be responsible for the following:Liaising with an international pool of clients on a daily basis.Planning and implementing the overall shipping strategy.Managing the progress of a select number of shipments (project management) on behalf of a pool of clients.Co-ordinating with various internal support teams to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.Ensuring customer satisfaction.Skill Set and Desired CompetenciesExcellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook)Excellent use of the English language, both written and verbalMaintain effective daily communication with relevant team membersAbility to adapt within the ever-changing shipping environmentOrganized and able to manage/co-ordinate all the elements of different high-value shipments throughout the shipment processAttention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectivelyAbility to proactively identify problems in advance before a shipment becomes a pressure pointCreative problem-solving abilityIndependent-thinker and resourcefulEnergetic and enthusiasticGeneral business acumenQualifications and ExperienceUniversity Undergraduate Degree of any background, commerce-focus preferableHonours Degree advantageousWork experience advantageousStrong academic track record required
