Qualifications: MatricTertiary Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business or a Related FieldRequirements: Management Skills and Experience 5+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain managementSpecific experience in managing import transactions and international shippingExcellent Microsoft Office skill level requiredProficiency in logistics software and shipment tracking systemsFluent in English, (Afrikaans will be beneficial)Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and negotiation abilitiesStrong mathematical and analytical skills requiredDuties:Negotiate with Carriers: Negotiate rates and contracts with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and other logistics providers Monitor Shipments: Track and monitor the status of inbound shipments, both Sea Freight and Air FreightUpdate Shipment Status: Update the working documents such as Purchase Orders and Shipping Records on the ERP systemResolve Issues: Address and resolve any problems related to shipment delays, damages, or compliance violationsImplement Policies: Develop and enforce shipping policies and procedures to streamline import operationsEffectively Manage the Shipping Team: Assess performance, timeliness and development of internal shipping teamRisk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with international shipping, such as geopolitical issues, currency fluctuations, and supply chain disruptionLiaise with international suppliers and vendors to facilitate the timely shipment of goodsEnsure all import activities comply with customs regulationsOversee the preparation and accuracy of all necessary import documentation
