Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants with a legal appointment as a 2.15.1, who will be reporting to the Mine Overseer. Responsible for safety and health of employees in your section.Key Responsibilities:Plan activities in accordance with operational and maintenance schedules and allocate resources as required.Responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling material, equipment, machinery, and other resources required to achieve daily and monthly production targets.Communicate service department recommendations to miners and the team and ensure compliance thereof.Weekly measurements and plotting of advancing faces and take corrective action to ensure maximum advance is achieved.Conduct early and late shifts as required by law.Responsible for conducting planned task/job observations.Monitor and schedule the leaves of employees to ensure the section is properly staffed.Supervise all mining activities and ensure legal compliance thereof.Responsible for the application of the Mine, Health & Safety (MHS) Act and Regulations, COPs, standards, and procedures.Ensure that people always wear the correct PPE.Ensure that unsafe areas are barricaded.Ensure that all mining reporting is aligned with standards, guidelines, and schedules.Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective/sound communication system with the Mining Function.Supervise subordinates in the designated area.Minimum Requirements:Grade 1Blasting Certificate OR National Certificate Rock breaking Underground Hard Rock Level 3Supervisory Development Program (SDP)/Leadership Development Program (LDP) or equivalent will be an added advantageA minimum of 5 years supervisory experience within a mining environmentTrackless board and pillar mining experience min of 5 years
