Our client, market leader in the manufacturing industry, is looking to hire a SHERQ Manager, based in Mobeni The successful candidate will be reporting into the COO and will be responsible for the planning, coordinating and overseeing of all SHERQ activities to ensure consistent production of products that adhere to the plant's established standards
Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain quality control objectives, ensuring alignment with production procedures to enhance product reliability and reduce costsSupervise inspection and testing personnel to guarantee continuous quality control of materials, facilities, and productsOrganize and promote training sessions focused on product quality and reliabilityAddress and manage customer complaints related to quality through the non-conformance processImplement measures to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of processes for producing compliant productsOversee ISO standard adherence to maintain and improve plant ratings.Implement, manage, and maintain the FSSC 22000 food management systemIdentify and mitigate risks that could potentially jeopardize the programEnsure adequate FSSC training is conducted, including refresher training when necessaryGuarantee compliance with FSSC requirements and oversee their implementationManage the plant's safety portfolio by adhering to the OSH Act and internal safety policies, ensuring a safe working environmentInvestigate and report all incidents and accidents, implementing measures to reduce recurrencePromote safety awareness through PPE enforcement, training initiatives, and adherence to legal regulationsConduct internal and external audits, ensuring results are evaluated and improvements implementedManage contractors to ensure compliance with internal and external policies, including security, cleaning, and waste removalOversee effective employee management within the SHERQ department (6 Quality Controllers)Perform additional reasonable tasks as required that align with skills and capabilitiesEducation and Experience: Grade 12 certificateRelevant tertiary qualification e.g.
Management / Food & Safety qualificationIn-depth understanding of quality management systems and departmental quality control policiesKnowledge and Skills: Knowledge of legal requirements and client satisfaction proceduresFamiliarity with departmental employee policies and proceduresProficiency in using MS Office applicationsAttention to detail and accuracyStrong organizational and planning skillsExcellent communication abilitiesProficiency in monitoring tasks and informationCapable of instructing, directing, and evaluating employeesAbility to interpret laws, rules, and regulationsSkilled in conducting investigative interviewsExperience in developing and implementing quality management policies and proceduresCompetent in maintaining records, preparing reports, and conducting correspondenceLocation: City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, South Africa
