Sherq Coordinator

A vacancy has come up in our East London Warehouse facility for a SHERQ Coordinator who has the following competencies:

Sound Level of Computer Proficiency
Sound knowledge of OHS Act
Sound knowledge of Warehousing Operations
Sound knowledge of Dangerous Goods Handling, Storage and Transportation

Qualifications & Experience:

Grade 12 Certificate, or relevant equivalent tertiary qualification
Minimum Two Years Industry Related Experience
SAMTRAC Qualification would be advantageous
SHERQ Related Qualifications
High levels of proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook

Key Responsibilities:

Rollout BQMS Procedures, and manage compliance thereto
Management and uploading of Facility Documents and Records on DGH
Manage review and update of Facility Quality Work Instructions
Compile a Job Observation Plan, and along with Operational Support conduct Job Observations
Conduct and review Facility Risk Assessments
Management of Action Requests, and the Action Request Register (Smart Sure)
Issue of Work Permits to Contractors
Induction of Contractors, Casual Labour, and New Employees
Management of Staff PPE issues
Assisting Facility to prepare for SHERQ Related Audits
Maintain legal compliance requirements according to the OHSA 85 of 1993
Maintain SHERQ Records at Facility Level
Maintain and submit the Monthly SHERQ OTP Report
Plan and Conduct compliance Audits
Attend Monthly SHERQ Meetings
Maintain the completion of all SHERQ Inspections Checklists, with the Support of Operations Staff
Assist management in maintaining ISO Accreditation
Sourcing and maintaining daily safety topics discussed in facility Blue Area
Ensure open channels of communication
Maintain Facility Dangerous Goods Register
Compile and manage a facility training plan, in relevance to SHERQ Related Training
Ensure compliance to all company SHERQ related processes and procedures
Maintain Database of Contractors' Letter of Good Standing, ensuring that all LOG's on file are updated
Facilitate renewal of all Facility Permits prior to expiry thereof
Induction of Labour Broker Staff and/or Contractors to the Facility, inclusive of Permit issuing
Actively promote safety awareness within the operation and immediate work environment
Actively encourage and participate in the 5S
