Service Technician - Mechanical/Heavy Diesel/HydraulicsReference: JHB000679-HJ-4Duties & ResponsibilitiesField service perform above tasks on site at customers as required, both on surface and possibly underground at mines.Respond and attend promptly to equipment breakdowns at customer sites.Carrying out service and repairs on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components. Solve complex equipment-related issues including diagnostic fault finding.Commissioning of new or refurbished equipment at customers.Provide training on supplied equipment either on site or at the workshop premises.Assemble new equipment according to manuals and instructions.Execute service agreement duties (or signs) with customers for maintenance or inspection of their equipment.Receive equipment at premises and perform issued work instructions.Conduct and compile audits and inspections on customer equipment.Perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and troubleshooting on customer equipment at SITE/Workshop.Assist with spare parts and workshop job quotations.Assist with equipment and spare parts deliveries to customers and suppliers.Promote products and services to customers in support of sales personnel.Working safely and adhere to applicable policies, procedures and standards.Provide technical support at Company exhibitions, open days and other customer focused marketing activities.Actively participate in ongoing product development and improvement.Overtime work to attend to customer breakdowns may be required.Shift work is not generally required.Ensure the workshop is kept clean, tidy and neatly organized.Communicate effectively and timeously with Company co-workers and management on the frequent channels used such as email, WhatsApp, etc.Qualifications & SkillsGrade 12.Mechanical, heavy diesel, electrical or hydraulic trade qualifications or similar.At least 5 years in a similar equipment mechanical Service Technician role.Preferably extensive experience in the repair maintenance of hydraulic hammers, pedestal booms, excavators, hydraulic power packs and rock drills.Understand and follow hydraulic and electrical schematics.Good mechanical ability.Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent customer service skills.Good communications skills both verbal and written.Work well independently as well as within a team as circumstances dictate.Motivated to learn more and possibly pursue further qualifications.Valid driver's license.Physically fit to work on heavy equipment and in possibly demanding environments.Comfortable to visit underground work sites.Computer literate.Preferably your own tools.The right to legally work in South Africa.
