Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor - BMW StellenboschMain Objective of the Role:The Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor will oversee all aspects of the dealership's facility maintenance and the wash bay operations. This role includes managing the wash bay staff, ensuring the quality and efficiency of vehicle cleaning, and performing general upkeep of the dealership's premises. This is a hands-on role requiring a generalist with skills in building maintenance, handyman repairs, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and have a strong track record in building and property maintenance.Responsibilities:Wash Bay ManagementSupervise and manage wash bay staff to ensure efficient and high-quality vehicle cleaning.Develop and implement wash bay schedules to optimize staff productivity and service turnaround times.Monitor wash bay operations for compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.Provide training, performance feedback, and guidance to wash bay team members.Ensure consumables are utilized efficiently, controlled, and replenished timeously.Moving of vehicles out of Wash Bay as and when needed.Facility MaintenanceOversee all aspects of building and property maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, painting, woodwork, and minor mechanical repairs.Coordinate preventative maintenance to ensure all dealership facilities are kept in optimal condition and meet safety standards.Identify and troubleshoot facility issues and perform hands-on repairs as needed.Maintain records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and scheduled services.Manage and liaise with external contractors and suppliers as required for specialized maintenance tasks.Ensure that the exterior of the Dealership is kept and maintained to a standard as required by a premium brand.Operational Efficiency and Quality ControlMonitor facility supplies and inventory, reordering materials and supplies as needed.Establish quality standards for maintenance tasks and wash bay operations to ensure a clean, safe, and professional work environment.Implement processes to optimize operational efficiency in maintenance and wash bay areas.Report high-risk maintenance issues to management timeously that could pose structural or safety risks.Health and SafetyEnforce dealership health and safety protocols, ensuring all areas meet legal requirements and dealership standards and reporting problem areas to Health and Safety Representative.Conduct regular inspections to ensure safe working conditions and address any hazards or safety concerns promptly through the appropriate channels.Minimum Requirements:Minimum Grade 10, preferably Grade 12.A formal qualification in a trade would be advantageous, but not required.Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in building or property maintenance, with a proven track record in managing maintenance staff or facilities operations.Strong generalist handyman skills in electrical, paint work, plumbing, woodwork, and mechanical repair.Demonstrated experience in supervising a team and managing staff performance.Solid communication ability.Reliable own transportation and valid driver's license.Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills, proactive, and able to work independently.Preference will be given to candidates residing within a reasonable distance of the dealership.Additional Requirements:Ability to lift, carry, and operate tools and equipment required for maintenance tasks.Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including outdoor, wash bay, and workshop areas.Ability to climb ladders and operate on roofs.Applying candidates, please submit a detailed CV, which must include your ID number, cell phone number, email address, and residential area.If you have not been contacted by 30 November 2024, you can assume that your application was not successful.
