The Team
This role will be part of the Design Team. Our 15-member team consists of UX designers, UI designers, Design System designer, Motion designers, UX Researchers, UX Writers, and strategists.
We collaborate through catch-ups, critiques, and design operations. We are obsessed with quality, and recently, we have won six prestigious design awards. HERE
The role
We seek a talented and enthusiastic Senior UX Researcher for TymeBank - South Africa. This role will be based in South Africa, with occasions to travel abroad. We believe UX research is a fundamental integration of the design team. As an integral team member, the candidate will work across the entire product development lifecycle. Must be comfortable systematically investigating users and their requirements to add context and insight into the process of designing the user experience.
The candidate will play a strategic role in leading research efforts across various product initiatives. Their expertise will shape how we create meaningful experiences that align with both user goals and business objectives.
The key responsibilities:

Lead and manage complex research initiatives from ideation to execution, using both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Plan, design, and conduct user research using various qualitative and quantitative methods such as usability testing, interviews, surveys, and generative research.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify research goals, develop research plans, and translate findings into actionable insights.
Analyze and synthesize research findings to inform the product design and development team, gather insights to inform and validate design decisions and identify areas for improvement.
Synthesize research findings into compelling narratives and presentations for key stakeholders, advocating for the user's perspective at every stage of the design process.
Stay updated on UX trends, best practices, and emerging research methodologies.
Experience with quantitative research (metrics, survey design, response, sampling, crosstabs, statistical concepts, etc.)
Collaborative mindset, who can educate non-researchers about the value of different research methodologies.
'Just do it' attitude – able to self-overcome issues and get things done.
Above all, you must be a truly passionate researcher with a user-centered mindset.

Requirements

8+ years' of relevant experience in conducting UX research
Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communications
Research, Statistics or Economics
Experience conducting in-depth interviews, moderated usability testing, field studies, and concept testing
Experience in unmoderated usability testing, survey design and applying statistical analysis methods such as hypothesis testing, correlation analysis, and data visualization
Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to and working with senior leadership and stakeholders.
A solid understanding of human-centered design principles and user-centered design processes.
Experience with research tools such as Figjam, Figma, Maze, Survey Monkey, etc.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate research findings into actionable insights
