Our client, a leading force in the logistics industry, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Transport Broker to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing and optimising road freight operations across the country. If you have a passion for logistics, a knack for negotiation, and a drive to deliver exceptional service, this role is for you.Role Overview:As a Senior Transport Broker, you will be the linchpin in our client's road freight operations. You will be responsible for forging and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and carriers, ensuring the seamless movement of goods across the region. Your expertise in road freight will enable you to navigate complex logistics challenges, negotiate competitive rates, and deliver top-tier service to a diverse portfolio of clients.Key Responsibilities:Client Relationship Management:Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with clients, fully understanding their transportation needs and providing bespoke solutions.Identify and secure new business opportunities, expanding our client's client base.Carrier Management:Develop and maintain a network of reliable carriers, negotiating favourable rates and ensuring top-quality service.Monitor carrier performance, addressing any issues promptly to maintain the highest service standards.Freight Management:Oversee the entire road freight process, ensuring every shipment is handled with precision and meets client expectations.Coordinate with carriers, clients, and internal teams to swiftly resolve any logistical challenges.Rate Negotiation:Negotiate competitive rates with clients and carriers, optimising profitability while maintaining market competitiveness.Stay ahead of market trends, adjusting pricing strategies to keep our client at the forefront of the industry.Compliance and Documentation:Ensure all freight operations adhere to industry regulations and company policies.Oversee the accurate and timely completion of all necessary documentation, including contracts and invoices.Reporting and Analysis:Prepare insightful reports on freight operations, financial performance, and market trends.Analyse data to uncover opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and business growth.Team Leadership:Mentor and guide junior brokers and support staff, sharing your industry knowledge and best practices.Collaborate with the operations team to continually enhance processes and service delivery.Qualifications and Experience:Education:Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).Experience:A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in transport brokering, specifically within road freight.A proven track record of successfully managing freight operations and building strong client relationships.Skills:Extensive knowledge of the road freight industry, including regulations, market trends, and key players.Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive results.Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with a meticulous attention to detail.Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.Other Requirements:Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Strong problem-solving skills and strategic thinking.Willingness to travel as required.What's On Offer:A competitive salary with performance-based incentives.Comprehensive health and retirement benefits.Opportunities for professional development and career progression.A collaborative and supportive work environment where your contributions are valued.
