The Role of the Test Automation Engineer: The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying effective test automation solutions. To fulfil this role, the Test Automation Engineer applies appropriate automation technologies and frameworks to meet the short- and long-term goals of the testing team.
You will work closely with the Test Automation Lead/Head of Test Automation/Head of QA to define the strategy and process, bringing automation in line with existing functional aspects of the test effort.
Your responsibilities include:
Creation, execution, and maintenance of automated scripts.Creating metrics and increasing test coverage using the automated systems.Key Responsibilities: Bachelors or master's degrees in engineering or science-related fields. Areas of study may include Network Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Management Information Systems, and Quality Assurance.5+ years' experience in test automation.Programming, system administration, or database administration experience is a plus.UFT/QTP certification.ISTQB qualification for Automation.Cucumber/SpecFlow (desirable).Appium, Calabash.Robot Framework.SoapUI/Postman.Use Git for source code management and control on a Git repo such as Github, Bit Bucket, TFS (DevOps Azure).HTML & CSS.XML & JSON.CI – Jenkins, Bamboo, Team City.General Skills: Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail at all times.Looks for ways to improve and promote quality.Applies feedback to improve performance.Monitors own work to ensure quality.Identifies, understands, recommends, and implements technical best practices in terms of tools and processes.Initiative: Undertakes self-development activities.Seeks increased responsibilities and takes ownership of tasks at hand.Takes independent actions and calculated risks.Teamwork: Balances team and individual responsibilities.Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views.Contributes to building a positive team spirit.Puts success of team above own interests.Copes well under pressure & with uncertainty.Flexible & adaptable in the face of changing priorities or circumstances.The KCS DNA encompasses the following core values and behaviours: • We make a difference
