Senior Test Analyst - East Rand, Gauteng We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Test Analyst to lead and develop our client's testing department within the insurance sector.This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through comprehensive manual testing processes.The successful candidate will be responsible for building the testing department from the ground up, establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs), and determining best practices and software tools for testing.Requirements: ISTQB certification or equivalent is preferred but not required.Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).Proficiency in creating detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Quality Center).Familiarity with various testing methodologies (e.g., functional, regression, integration, system testing).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong leadership and team-building abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.Responsibilities: Manual Testing: Perform comprehensive manual testing of software applications to identify and resolve defects.Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.Collaborate with developers and business analysts to understand software requirements and functional specifications.Document and track software defects and ensure their resolution.Department Development: Build and lead the testing department, including recruiting, training, and mentoring junior test analysts.Define the structure and roles within the testing team.Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs): Establish and document SoPs for the testing department.Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.Best Practices and Tools: Identify, evaluate, and implement testing tools and technologies suitable for the insurance domain.Develop and promote best practices in software testing.Stay updated with the latest testing methodologies and tools to ensure the department remains current.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations.Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement processes.Reporting: Prepare and present reports on testing activities, including defect metrics, test coverage, and test execution status.Provide insights and recommendations based on testing results to support decision-making.Please note that only candidates with the required experience will be considered and contacted.If you are not contacted, kindly consider your application unsuccessful.Apply ONLINE now at: www.sydsenrecruit.com SYDSEN RECRUIT (Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn)
