Senior Reinsurance Accounting Specialist – Rosebank, Johannesburg

Role Overview:We're looking for a talented Senior Reinsurance Accounting Specialist to join the reinsurance accounting team.
You'll handle the reinsurance accounting function, ensuring everything is reported accurately and on time.
You'll also work closely with the leadership team, helping them make informed business decisions.
In addition, the role involves mentoring the reinsurance accounting team and managing any queries in the absence of the manager as the expert.

What You'll Do: Manage reinsurance technical accounting.
Keep the general ledger up to date, including journal entries and account analysis.
Reconcile reinsurance accounts.
Prepare reinsurance statements and manage cash flows.
Produce monthly reinsurance reports.
Analyze results and balances.
Assist with implementing a new reinsurance system.
Prepare statistics for reinsurance treaties.
Streamline accounting processes.
Set up and test reinsurance treaties and facultative contracts.
Lead change efforts for new systems.
What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (B.Com).
3 years'+ experience in reinsurance accounting within a reinsurer or direct insurer.
Strong analytical and financial management skills.
Great at collaborating and taking initiative.
Problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
Detail-oriented, accurate, and organized.
Good at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Clear and effective communicator with both internal and external stakeholders.
