Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Plant Engineer to join their poultry processing facility. This role requires a strong background in engineering with a focus on refrigeration systems, process optimization, and project management to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and quality. Responsibilities: Engineering Leadership: Lead and provide direction to the engineering team, ensuring best practices, safety standards, and compliance with regulations. Refrigeration Systems Management: Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of refrigeration systems, with a strong emphasis on ammonia plant experience. Project Management: Manage engineering projects from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reductions in operations. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure all engineering processes meet food safety and quality standards. Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for critical equipment and systems. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Address equipment failures and maintenance issues promptly to minimize downtime. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure full compliance within the plant. Risk Management: Assess risks related to engineering activities and develop strategies to maintain a safe work environment. Training and Development: Mentor engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Key Skills: Expertise in refrigeration principles, HVAC systems, and cold storage technologies. Strong project management skills with a proven track record in completing projects on time and within budget. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and communication abilities. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations such as HACCP and OSHA. Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering within the poultry processing industry, particularly with refrigeration systems. Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
