Hire Resolve's client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Mechanical Draughtsman in Alberton, GP.Responsibilities:GENERAL & PROJECT ADMIN1. Admin1.1 Timesheet Management - Create a new timesheet for the department at the beginning of each new year and ensure that it is fully operational.Manage the Drawing Office staff regarding Timesheet admin.1.2 Filing - File all relevant hard copy and electronic documentation in correct files and folders as received. Worktables must be clear of unnecessary paperwork and drawings.1.3 Drawing Office Assistance - Assist fellow Drawing Office staff with any technical or draughting queries they might have.1.4 Follow Up on Work Progress.1.5 Checking of Drawings / Models.1.6 Ensure all latest information is saved in the relevant folders.1.7 Understanding and using Vault database.Draughting2. Refurb Projects2.1 Onsite Measuring - Reverse engineer existing components to almost perfect accuracy for modelling and interference checking purposes. The draughtsman needs to have experience in measuring with different equipment, especially with complicated and high accuracy components. This may require site visits and measurements at NCP's workshops.2.2 3D Modelling & Detailing - Experience in Inventor and CAD is required as these programs are used at NCP's drawing office. Existing components must be modelled from measurements, and new components must be created to fit existing components. Modifications must be made to meet NCP standards, and assemblies must be created to ensure all components fit correctly. Understanding of tolerances, geometrical tolerances, machining symbols, and welding symbols on drawings is essential.Communicating with Project- and Design Engineers - Work closely with project engineers to ensure sufficient and cost-effective designs.2.3 Interface Checking - Perform interface checks between existing and new components for clashes, ensuring high accuracy and adherence to NCP standards.2.4 Layouts - Create layouts for design review meetings and client-based information-only drawings.2.5 Parts List - Complete parts lists on all assembly drawings.2.6 Squad Check - All drawings must undergo squad check.
