Hire Resolve's client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Mechanical Draughtsman in Alberton, GP.ResponsibilitiesGENERAL & PROJECT ADMIN1. Admin1.1 Timesheet Management – Create a new timesheet for the department at the beginning of each new year, ensuring it is fully operational.Manage the Drawing Office staff regarding Timesheet admin.1.2 Filing – File all relevant Hard Copy and Electronic Copy documentation in the correct files and folders as received. Worktables must be clear of unnecessary paperwork and drawings.1.3 Drawing Office Assistance – Assist fellow Drawing Office Staff with any technical or draughting queries they might have.1.4 Follow Up on Work Progress1.5 Checking of Drawings / Models1.6 Ensure all latest info is saved in the relevant folders1.7 Understanding and using Vault database2. Draughting2.1 Onsite Measuring – Existing components must be reverse engineered to almost perfect accuracy for modelling and interference checking purposes. The draftsman needs to have experience in measuring with different measuring equipment, especially with complicated and high accuracy components. This may require the draftsman to go to sites and NCP's workshops to take measurements.2.2 3D Modelling & Detailing – The draftsman should have experience in Inventor and CAD, as these programs are used at NCP's drawing office. Existing components must be modelled from measurements, and in the case of missing components, new components must be created to fit the rest of the existing components. Modifications must be made to existing components not meeting NCP standards. After modelling, assemblies must be created to ensure all components fit together correctly. Components requiring modification and new components must be detailed for manufacturing, necessitating an understanding of tolerances, geometrical tolerances, machining symbols, and welding symbols on drawings.2.3 Communicating with Project- and Design Engineers – The draftsman will work closely with project engineers to discuss new designs and ensure sufficient and cost-effective design.2.4 Interface Checking – Interface checking must be conducted between existing and new components for clashes, ensuring a perfect fit between components.2.5 Layouts – Create layouts for design review meetings and client-based information-only drawings.2.6 Parts List – Complete parts lists on all assembly drawings.2.7 Squad Check – All drawings must undergo a squad check.
