Job Purpose: Teach on the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes combination of the following subjects: Mechanical Engineering Design, Applied Strength of Materials, Mechanics of Machines and Thermodynamics.Conduct research and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.Minimum Requirements: Senior Lecturer A Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering. All base qualifications (Diploma or its equivalent and Bachelor) must be in Mechanical Engineering.At least four (4) years lecturing experience or four (4) years relevant industrial experience.Demonstrable ability to teach Mechanical Engineering Design, Applied Strength of Materials, Thermodynamics, Mechanics of machines and other Mechanical related subjects as required.Demonstrable evidence of publications (peer reviewed) in the Mechanical Engineering field.Track record of successful postgraduate supervision.Evidence of appropriate academic and research leadership.Minimum Requirements: Lecturer A Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. All base qualifications (Diploma or its equivalent and Bachelor) must be in Mechanical Engineering.At least two (2) years lecturing experience or two (2) years relevant industrial experience.Demonstrable ability to teach Mechanical Engineering Design, Applied Strength of Materials, Thermodynamics, Mechanics of machines and other Mechanical related subjects as required.Working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering software packages.Recommendations: Must be registered with ECSA Professional Body or must register within 12 months of employment.Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities: Lecturing on the Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering Programmes: Subjects such as Mechanical Engineering Design, Applied Strength of Materials, Thermodynamics and other Mechanical related subjects as required at a tertiary institution.Develop learning materials for Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and Doctoral qualifications.Supervise and mentor students: undergraduate and postgraduate.Contribute to research outputs through participation in research activities.Assistance with departmental administration / All subject related admin / quality assurance related admin.Liaison with industry partners and other stakeholders.Conduct research and publication of articles in accredited journals.Curriculum design and development, assessment and quality assurance.Academic administration, development and management.General Information: Closing Date: 27 October 2024
