POST TITLE: SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (ONE POST)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lecturing at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level;
Supervising postgraduate students;
Scientific research and publications in accredited academic journals;
Academic service, administration and management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Senior Lecturer:
Relevant professional qualification with a relevant Master's degree or a relevant doctorate;
Demonstrated teaching competence;
Evidence of publications in accredited journals / other peer-reviewed scholarly outlets or relevant industry experience;
Evidence of successful supervision of Master's students to completion or relevant industry experience.
Associate Professor:
A relevant doctorate;
Tertiary teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level;
Established record of publications in accredited journals / other peer-reviewed scholarly outlets;
Established record of supervising postgraduate students to completion;
An established national profile and network.
COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
Appropriate language and communication skills;
Digital acumen;
Ability to effectively function in a team;
Appropriate teaching skills;
Relevant knowledge of research methodologies.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
Experience in blended learning practices;
Lecturing experience at the postgraduate level;
Involvement in broader academic citizenship.
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent's level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
