Responsibilities: Project Monitoring & Support : Monitor the progress and performance of project discipline teams, providing feedback and support, and managing design scope changes. Technical & Commercial Oversight : Provide direction on design quality, schedules, and budgets; review feasibility studies, tenders, and contractor documentation to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness. Team & Resource Management : Set and review man-hour budgets, allocate work, assess staff suitability, and recommend additional manning as needed; drive professional development of team members. Reporting & Documentation : Ensure all project correspondence is recorded, produce progress reports, conduct design group meetings, and provide timely updates on project discussions and achievements. Qualifications: B. Tech. / B.Eng. Civil engineering Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA Knowledge and experience: Minimum of 10 to 15 years civil infrastructure design experience in the mining and minerals industry, preferably worked within an EPC/EPCM engineering environment. Detail engineering of roads, terracing, stormwater, ponds and network analysis of water and sewer pipelines. Detail engineering of non-process facilities (offices, change houses, temporary and permanent housing facilities, etc.). Site experience: construction. Technical Competence in terms of core engineering theory from first principles and ability to extend theory to new andcomplex problems. Well-developed computer skills and knowledge of word, databases spreadsheets and discipline related application software. Understanding of South African and common International standards and regulatory authority requirements in the miningand minerals processing sector.
