Senior Full-Stack Developer

SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.SACAP is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to lead and execute programming tasks to develop, enhance, test, and maintain in-house and third-party web-based platforms. Develop, enhance, and maintain integrations with third-party software platforms to support business-critical processes. Mentor intermediate and junior developers.Main Purpose of the Job:Overseeing programming tasks to develop, enhance, test, and maintain in-house and 3rd party web-based platforms. Develop, enhance, and maintain integrations with 3rd party software platforms to support business-critical processes. Mentoring of intermediate and junior developers.Qualifications & Experience:Relevant Degree/Diploma in IT, and/or5+ years of solid experience in full-stack web application development.Experience working with a productive software development team.Solid experience with modern solutions integrations.Skills:Modern full-stack development technologies (e.g. LAMP/LEMP stack)Unix/Linux server platformsMVC/OOP - Laravel 5+ FrameworkHTML5 & CSS3Modern CSS Libraries (Bootstrap 3+)Composer & NPM package managersJavaScript (jQuery & VUE2.js)PHP 7+ / PythonRDBMS (MariaDB & SQL Server)API-based Restful web-servicesCommand Line Scripting (BASH script & Cron)Version control – GitHubModern development IDEs and workflows (VSCode, SSH, etc.)Personal Attributes:Attitude for continuous improvement and learning.Takes pride and ownership of work.A logical and critical thinker.An aptitude for problem-solving.Understanding of complex business processes.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to negotiate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Detail-oriented with a clear understanding of business objectives.Willingness to direct and mentor team members.Operating Hours:This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*: Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00 Friday: 08:30 – 16:00*Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of this position.Please upload a copy of your Identity Document and Curriculum Vitae along with your application.Applications close by Friday 16 August 2024, 16:00pm
