An international software solutions business with satellite offices bases across the world (Africa, Americas, Europe, and Australasia) is seeking to permanently employ a Senior Financial Accountant in Cape Town.A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, knowledge of tax-related matters and has a good understanding of statutory returns and corporate governance, working across multiple jurisdictions.ResponsibilitiesMaintaining general ledger and preparing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures.Financial Oversight and Control.Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and with internal accounting policies.Managing intercompany transactions according to our Transfer Pricing Policy.Liaise with regional accounting and tax service providers (where applicable), to ensure the filing of any statutory local returns is done timely and accurately.Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and provide balance sheet analysis.Identify areas of improvements of business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Assist with tax audits and where applicable prepare tax returns.Perform quarterly tax effect accounting.Assisting with annual audit preparations.Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.Preparing financial analyses and reports.Ensuring the general ledger is perfectly maintained.Ad hoc assistance to the Group Financial Controller with reports, etc.Collaborate across regions with Administration Officers and Regional Operation Managers.Mentoring of junior finance staff.RequirementsMinimum 5 years experience in a Senior Financial Accountant role or similar in mid-sized companies.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.Recognized accounting qualification preferred (i.e. SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA/ACCA/SAIBA).Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Experience working across multiple jurisdictions will be desirable.A sound knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP would be desirable (advantageous but not compulsory).Salary: R50,000 to R65,000 / month, dependant on skills and experience.How to ApplyEnsure you meet all the requirements.Complete all the requested information below.Remember to attach your CV.Once your application has been made, you will receive a generic e-mail to confirm the receipt of your application.Only short-listed candidates will be contacted.Should you not be contacted by a consultant within 2 weeks, please consider your application as unsuccessful.
