Job ResponsibilitiesRecord financial transactions for project, department, or company.
Prepare financial statements for internal and external use.
Reconcile spending with budget as part of job costing.
Analyse financial performance and forecast longer term horizons.
Recommend methods and strategies for cutting costs.
Maintain records and support auditing efforts.
Advise company and/or department management on financial decisions.
Make upper-level strategy recommendations based on financials.
Submit accurate monthly bank reconciliations for approval.
Process journals to the general ledger and ensure all journals are authorized before processing.
Ensure that the relevant balance sheet account reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis and approve once done.
Finalize balance sheet account reconciliations for debtors and creditors and approve once done.
Responsible for debtors and creditors function.
Ensure adequate resources are available to support projects.
Provide on-the-job training to all subordinates.
QualificationsBCom financial degree or relevant.
5-10 years engineering manufacturing industry experience.
Strong judgment and decision-making skills.
Compliance with relevant legislation, accounting principles, and standards.
Advanced ERP experience required.
Quantitative Easing (QE) experience will be an advantage.
Experience with Treasury Management System (TMS) and E-forex.
SARS E-filing experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proactive, self-starter with initiative.
Good planning and time management skills.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Ability to multi-task and handle pressure.
