Job Description Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant | Reporting Oil & Related Posting Date : December 27, 2024 Location : Sandton, Gauteng Company : Sasol Job Req ID : 6648 Closing Date : January 6, 2025 OME : FIN: Finance Southern Africa Purpose of the Job To contribute to financial and business decision-making at the tactical/operational level by executing financial-related activities, preparing accurate and timely financial accounting reports and annual financial statements, and ensuring the integrity of the General Ledger (GL) and Trial Balance for monthly reporting in OneStream.
Key Accountabilities Monthly Reporting Populate and complete monthly financial information in OneStream .
Ensure timeous and accurate reporting, adhering to Group timelines and requirements.
Statutory Reporting Prepare Business Unit statutory reports and ensure compliance with relevant frameworks.
Draft and review standalone Business Unit Annual Financial Statements, as required.
Stakeholder Management Network with Group stakeholders, providing guidance to ensure compliance with reporting frameworks.
Manage relationships with External and Internal Auditors to meet reporting requirements and deadlines.
Accounting Standards & Compliance Understand and implement accounting standards, the Sasol Accounting Manual, and the OneStream reporting pack.
Address and implement audit findings/recommendations.
General Ledger Integrity Maintain integrity of GL accounts and ledger structure for controlled transactions.
Perform and validate GL and sub-ledger reconciliations monthly.
Execute monthly SOX controls and SOX testing during testing cycles.
Tax and Cash Flow Forecasting Prepare accurate tax returns in conjunction with Group Tax Services.
Provide inputs for the Cash Flow forecasting process.
Audit Management Provide high-quality audit files with supporting documentation.
Address and mitigate audit findings promptly.
Technical Position Papers Draft and present RPC technical position papers to the SA RPC.
Collaborate with the Group Technical Department for alignment before Group RPC discussions.
Requirements Qualifications & Experience Education : University Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Experience : 6+ years of relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting.
