Introduction: A vacancy exists for a Senior Financial Accountant reporting to a Finance Manager at the Financial Services Centre .
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the financial processes of the Non Current Assets Department so as to achieve compliance, standardisation and efficiency in the financial accounting of Life Healthcare.
Critical Outputs: Responsible for reviewing of accounting reconciliations and GL Analyses including resolving of reconciling items in relevant accounting process Ensure complete, accurate and timeous processing of transactions Ensure compliance with corporate governance, procedures & protocols within the group particularly on capital expenditure Prepare relevant notes for subsidiary and G roup annual financial statements Management of staff Training and development of direct & indirect reportees (career planning) Manage ad hoc projects as requested by Management Attending to customers (Admin Managers/Management/Colleagues) queries and promoting a high level of customer service Responsible for internal and external audit for the team Constantly striving to improve working methods to improve standardisation and efficiencies Requirements: Non negotiable requirements: Must be a CA (SA) At least 2 years post articles experience Strong technical accounting knowledge especially IFRS 16 SAP experience would be beneficial Previous experience in an Assets department would be an advantage Proficiency in Microsoft Office is critical with advanced Excel Skills Other requirements: High performance orientation, independence, functional proficiency, initiative and an ability to meet deadlines is essential for this position as is attention to detail and good communication and report writing skills The ability to manage staff and have excellent communication skills is crucial Competencies: Problem-solving, analysis and judgement Resilience Influencing skills Excellence orientation Ethical behavior Strategy delivery Building relationships Customer responsiveness Organisational awareness Leading b y exa mple Motivating and developing people Deadline driven
