We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Electrical Engineer Medium Voltage Systems to join our engineering team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of medium voltage (MV) electrical systems, along with a solid understanding of electrical infrastructure, safety standards, and project management.
This is a senior-level position that offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects.Key Responsibilities:Design & Engineering: Lead the design and development of medium voltage electrical systems for a variety of applications, including power distribution, industrial plants, substations, and building services.System Integration: Oversee the integration of medium voltage systems with other electrical systems, ensuring seamless operation and compliance with project specifications.Project Management: Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of MV electrical projects.
Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians, ensuring high levels of competency and adherence to industry best practices.Inspection & Testing: Supervise the installation, commissioning, and testing of MV electrical equipment and systems (e.g., switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers).
Conduct performance and safety tests to verify system integrity and reliability.Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Lead troubleshooting and fault-finding activities for medium voltage systems in both new and existing installations.
Provide ongoing maintenance support to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.Safety & Compliance: Ensure all designs and installations comply with local, national, and international electrical codes and safety standards.
Promote a culture of safety within the team and across the organization.Client Liaison: Work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, address concerns, and deliver solutions that meet project requirements and expectations.Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and drawings for design and installation work.
Ensure all records are maintained for future reference, audits, and compliance purposes.Qualifications & Experience:Educational Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (Medium Voltage specialization or related field).
A Masters degree is a plus.Professional Experience:Minimum 7+ years of experience in medium voltage electrical systems design, installation, and maintenance, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineer role.Proven track record in delivering medium voltage projects in sectors such as energy, industrial, utilities, or infrastructure.Strong understanding of MV switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and cable systems.Technical Skills:Proficiency in designing and selecting medium voltage electrical equipment (e.g., switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers).Experience in electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and fault current analysis.Familiarity with electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD, PowerWorld, or similar tools).
