Job Summary
To define and continuously improve a data management and governance framework that enables a comprehensive operating model to be built and embedded for the organisation. This role will consult to both ITO and the broader enterprise to drive the capabilities required to further the data management and governance agenda of the organisation via central and federated initiatives. The Senior Data Governance and Management Specialist will define standards and best practices, as well as administer the enterprise data governance forums and functions defined in the framework.
Job Description
Define, optimise and implement a data governance framework for the agreed data management services offered by the Chief Analytics Office.
Develop and maintain policies, standards and best practice guidelines to drive the adoption of data governance and data management requirements and ensure alignment with the enterprise risk management framework and other associated policies and standards.
Define and co-ordinate implementation of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure implementation and embedment of data standards and best practices.
Advise bank wide projects and teams on data governance and data management policy compliance as well as best practices.
Administer data governance forums, communities of practice and workgroups as defined in the data governance framework.
Maintain a register of risks and audit findings, requirements or recommendations related to data management or data governance and advise the impacted teams to address these items.
Support the users of group-wide data management services from Chief Analytics Office:
Training interventions and material to support group understanding and adoption of data governance.
Facilitate the resolution of issues raised at governance forums.
Help build and maintain a sustainable data management and governance community.
Define and maintain the operating model for data governance and the required governance for consistent use across the group.
Define requirements for tooling required to support data management implementation as input into technology roadmaps and prioritisation.
Facilitate data-related work groups, steering committees and other forums that Chief Analytics Office is responsible for.
Represent Chief Analytics Office on external data-related work groups, steering committees and other forums to share subject matter expertise and help position the department proactively to address new requirements.
Monitor and report on the adherence to the data policy and standards and guide deviating teams on how to address the gaps.
Design controls to support the implementation of data management standards and best practices.
Education and Experience Required
BSc Information Technology, or Risk Management or equivalent Diploma.
CISA / CISSP / CISM / CGERT / PMP / DAMA or any other IT Governance related qualification.
5 years in Financial Services or related industry.
5 years' experience in compliance, risk and Data Management fields.
2 years managerial/leadership experience.
3 years' experience in a risk and audit environment.
