Specialist: Hyperconverged InfrastructureThe ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, configuring, and maintaining all VxRail and other Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) hardware assets within a framework of industry standards. As a Specialist, you will take proactive steps to manage capacity and performance across HCI systems and incident response. You will also be responsible for designing and implementing solutions based on current industry standards and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.VMware: 5-8 years (Required)Dell VXRail: 5-8 years (Required)VMware Certified Professional Certificate (Required)VXRail Implementation Certificate (Required)Microsoft MCA or higherVMware VCPTechnical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in the core areas of responsibility, including:
Hypervisors like VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Citrix Hypervisor.HCI such as Nutanix, Dell/EMC VxRail, or VMware vSAN.VDI solutions such as VMware Horizon or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops.Switching and routing vendors such as Cisco, Dell, HPE/Aruba, Juniper, or Fortinet.Familiarity with cloud computing environments such as AWS or Azure.Configuration of LDAP solutions like Microsoft Active Directory, Apple Open Directory.Knowledge of Infrastructure Security best practices.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions. The candidate should be proactive in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related problems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members, stakeholders, and end-users. The candidate should be able to explain technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner and collaborate across different departments.
Security Awareness: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices. The candidate should be able to implement security measures to protect the infrastructure from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Project Management: Ability to plan, execute, and manage infrastructure-related projects effectively. The candidate should be capable of coordinating tasks, setting timelines, and delivering projects within defined scope and budget constraints.
Adaptability: Capacity to adapt to changing technologies, industry trends, and organizational requirements. The candidate should be open to learning new skills and technologies to keep the infrastructure up-to-date and aligned with the organization's needs.
Team Player: Collaboration and teamwork are essential for success in this role. The candidate should be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, providing support, sharing knowledge, and contributing to the achievement of common goals.
Documentation: Strong documentation skills to maintain clear and comprehensive records of infrastructure configurations, changes, and procedures. Proper documentation is crucial for knowledge sharing and troubleshooting.
Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to details in infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance. The candidate should strive for accuracy and precision to ensure the infrastructure's stability and performance.
Continuous Improvement: Willingness to continuously improve processes and procedures related to infrastructure management. The candidate should seek opportunities to optimize the infrastructure's performance, security, and efficiency.
Responsibilities and Accountability: Responsible for supporting, configuring, and maintaining all HCI, including VxRail and VMware.Take proactive steps to manage capacity and performance across VMware systems and incident response.Implement solutions based on current industry standards and best practices.Install, configure, manage, and administer Dell VxRail and related technologies.Administer VMware ESXi, vSphere, VSAN, and VCenter.Provide incident response and troubleshooting support for VMware systems.Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the industry.Adhere to established processes related to Change/Problem/Incident Management.Perform regular security assessments and remediations on infrastructure for identified vulnerabilities.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans.About the Job: Contract Type: FULL_TIME
