Job Description As a Senior Cyber Security Specialist, you will proactively build, implement, and operate security services to enable reliable business capabilities based on Microsoft Windows and Linux Server ecosystems, including Firewalls and Network switches.
Responsible for maintaining Windows and Linux ecosystems and identifying and troubleshooting issues. The Senior Cyber Security Specialist team also supports servers, databases, networks, storage, and communication systems and their security.
You would do: Meet with colleagues, the development team, and the business departments to analyse and workshop requirements. Take ownership of system infrastructure and help to maintain reliability and uptime of core services. Research and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices based on business and IT requirements. Pair traditional system administration and engineering practices with automation, observability, and software development skills. Operate and administer Windows servers and management tools on-premises and in the cloud with a system-thinking mindset. Understand broad operational performance factors resulting from integrated systems that account for such things as: Underlying infrastructure (Container/virtualisation/server/networking/storage platforms) Security and Controls requirements (Cybersecurity) Data/integration Availability Change management Emergency Response / Disaster Recovery Occasional after-hours support. Documenting, executing, and maintaining the monthly reporting processes. Adhering to organisation structure (processes, systems, tools, templates, and standard operating procedures). Provide expert technical guidance and input. Play a leading role in the System engineering team. Create and maintain technical documentation as needed. Overseeing Backup Strategy and compliance. VEEAM knowledge and support. Experience: Degree in IT or similar. 7+ years of relevant work experience is required. Cloud Experience (Azure and AWS). System Architecture Design, documenting, consulting. Brocade Zoning. Advanced Active Directory implementation, maintenance, and support, including Azure AD. Security certificate management and deployments / Wildcard certificates. Secure FTP (Cerberus beneficial). Microsoft Licensing Knowledge. Reverse Proxy / Static pages / Fortinet. MPLS / IP Routing. Internet Information Server (IIS). Microsoft Windows Server Operating system (2008/2012/2016/2019). Understanding and application of API/Integration key concepts. Virtualisation (VMWare). MS Exchange (2019) and O365. SMTP/POP3. Technical skills: VMWare, ESXi, vSphere, SRM. Troubleshoot VMWare issues. Configure HA/DRS. Monitor performance and usage. Follow best practices and improve the environment. Ensure the environment is updated with critical patches. Plan and execute upgrades. Ensure the environment runs optimally and suggest improvements. Monitor performance and usage of the network. Manage Network switch health. Document Firewall rules and Diagrams. Execute Disaster Recovery exercises. Servers & Hosts: Ensure that patching is up to date. Ensure that vulnerabilities are addressed asap. Microsoft Exchange Management and support. Active Directory Management and Support (users, GPOs, etc.). Manage DNS. Powershell knowledge for scripting. Cloud: Azure Cloud management. Kubernetes (advantageous). DevOps (advantageous). SQL Server (advantageous). Permissions. Networking with IPSEC tunnel to on-prem. Load Balancers. Blob storage with on-prem AD integration. Network: Liaise with the Network team for configs for VMWare and SAN when required. Advise on the config for internal API's routing through the Firewall. General network knowledge for troubleshooting.
