Global Retail Financial Services concern is offering this exciting career opportunity to join their dynamic team of highly proficient Tax and Finance Professionals.
One would describe you as a Corporate Tax Expert who possesses proven leadership, project management and problem-solving skills. You are a collaborative teamplayer by nature who has strong business communication skills and the ability to draft commentary, analyse and present information accordingly.
Key roles and responsibilities:
Tax Policy, Compliance, Process and Systems management
Develop and design tax policies and guidelines for the GroupTaxes covered: VAT, income tax, withholding taxes (dividends and royalties), carbon tax, transfer pricing, capital gains tax and employees taxUpdate and amend policies as per tax amendmentsUpdate all relevant tax and financial systems (e.g., SAP) as requiredIf required, ensure that the supporting systems are updated /designed to support changes to policyAdvise and communicate all tax and policy changes to all relevant stakeholdersEvaluate and advise all relevant stakeholders of any tax associated risks and exposure that could impact the GroupProcess all tax returns relevant to the operations serviced within the GroupEnsure the adherence to all returns and payments (e.g., VAT, Corporate tax, etc.)Manage all external stakeholders and their interests in all tax related matters for the GroupManage all reporting for tax within the GroupManage activities related to transfer pricing. Conducting regular internal review of transfer pricing policies in accordance with the latest tax regulation developments. Providing advice on transfer pricing implications of new business initiatives. Supporting transfer pricing audits, including responding to tax authorities on matters or queries relating to transfer pricing. Handling transfer pricing analysis and reportingEnsure the efficient handling and resolution of audit queriesIdentifies Tax risks and issues and proposes solutionsDetermine tax savings and recommend strategies to improve profitsPerform all related tax accounting functions:Perform tax related ledger reconciliations and accounts maintenance as necessaryPrepare the group consolidation tax note and tax rate reconciliationBudgeting and forecastingManage the current and deferred tax processesAccount for all tax (direct and indirect) provisionsPrepare tax returns, payments, necessary paperwork and reports in respect of corporate income tax for group companiesSupport Treasury activities
Administer all tax requirements/returns for cash paymentsPerform the intercompany Loans and Deposits process to ensure tax complianceLeadership
Oversee talent management for direct reports in terms of recruitment, retention and developmentOversee the performance management and development of all shared service staffEnsure adherence to shared service performance management requirements, ensuring continuous performance feedback to and development of direct reportsEnsure that all staff are motivated, developed, and appraised so that individual and collective performance meets the needs of the customersStakeholder Relationships
Manage relationship with Finance in business, Finance CoEs and the Finance Shared ServicesEnsure the engagement with relevant internal and external stakeholders within the groupManage the relationship with relevant tax authorities and audit firms within South AfricaCoordinate outsourced tax preparation workQualifications and Experience:
Qualified CA(SA) with a post graduate qualification in Tax5 Years relevant experience gained within a Corporate Tax Consulting environmentProven leadership skillsProven advisory and compliance experience across direct tax, indirect tax, international tax and transfer pricingBehaviours:
