Tax Accountant

Our client, an independent tax consultancy firm based in Cape Town, is seeking a talented Tax Accountant to join their team.This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with South African tax practitioners and German tax advisors, working on advisory projects between Germany and South Africa.Our client supports investors and entrepreneurs in optimal tax planning, ensuring they can confidently navigate their projects in both markets.Key Responsibilities:Capturing digital invoices and billsProcessing automated bank feedsReconciling interim, intercompany, salary control, VAT, and control accountsCapturing monthly payroll ledgers and tax returnsAssisting with the preparation of income tax schedules and computing taxable incomeVerifying returns and supporting documentsSupervising and training new employeesParticipating in professional development opportunities provided by the employerReporting, updating, and cooperating with the direct supervisorCommunicating with SARS, preparing correspondence (clients, general stakeholders)Demonstrating effective time management skillsRequirements:BCom Accounting degree or similar qualificationExperience with South African accounting software (XERO)Knowledge of German accounting software (HMD, DATEV) would be an advantageAbility to work remotely and process clients based in Germany and South AfricaFamiliarity with remote working via VPNExperience working with companies, sole proprietors, and small to medium-sized private entitiesProficiency in accounting principles (SA GAAP, German GAAP, IFRS, Income Tax, VAT)Understanding of German and South African income tax and VAT frameworksOur client offers a competitive compensation package, opportunities for professional growth, and a dynamic work environment.If you are a qualified Tax Accountant with a passion for international tax advisory, we encourage you to apply for this exciting role with our client.
