PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To manage Investigation Services
Duties & Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To implement the NWU Protection Services Strategy.
Allocate case dockets to investigators.
Provide guidance to investigators.
Conduct 24 hour inspections on dockets.
Conduct quality assurance first level inspection prior to handing over to Senior Manager.
Submit a monthly report to the Senior Manager indicating the number of cases received, detection rate, and cases withdrawn.
Implement crime scene management.
View CCTV recordings.
Trace respondents.
Verify information and submit to Senior Manager.
Interpret crime threat and pattern analysis.
Ensure that briefing notes are compiled.
Disaster Management:
Implement the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
Activate the Senior Manager (SM) as soon as a disaster occurs.
Ensure deployments are executed in terms of the Crime Pattern Analysis (CPA).
Ensure crime prevention actions are executed, such as stop and search, active patrols, observation, and vehicle check points (VCPS).
Develop a crime prevention plan.
Special Events:
Develop an operational plan to manage an event in terms of SASREA.
SHE:
Implement the relevant section of the OHSA.
Participate in the quarterly SHE departmental meeting.
Training and Development:
Identify training needs of members in terms of PDP.
Nominate members to attend relevant and developmental training interventions.
People Management:
Conduct performance appraisals of members.
Identify development areas.
Desired Experience & Qualification
A Degree or Diploma in Security Management, Policing, or related field.
Registration with PSIRA.
A minimum of three (3) years' experience in Security and Policing.

REMUNERATION:
The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
