Business Analyst Job DescriptionThe business analyst will be responsible for compiling the approach (strategy document and business case) for our core system upgrade project. You will be required to perform detailed requirement analysis, documenting processes, as well as performing a gap analysis between existing and new functionality. You will define the detailed requirements for system implementation resulting from the gap analysis performed. You will work alongside other business analysts and report directly to the Business Solutions Manager.Duties & ResponsibilitiesMain duties and responsibilities:Process and data mappingEnsuring solutions meet business needs and requirementsGap analysis between current and new versions of the systemFully involved in the Software Development Life Cycle (agile and hybrid) and project deliveryFull range of business requirements analysis and definition (including but not limited to functional, non-functional, and data requirements)TestingPerson SpecificationVery good understanding of the end-to-end administration processes and systems that support these.At least 8 years' direct experience in Unit Trust and LISP (Discretionary and Life and Retirement Products) administration with in-depth knowledge of the products, legislative reporting, and operational processes that support the administration of these products.At least 5 years' experience in a senior BA role with proven experience in Business Case definition, process and business analysis on medium to large projects.Proven ability to abstract detail into models.Strong understanding of project implementation necessities.Proven track record of driving and implementing improvements.Experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.Software and Systems KnowledgeExperience with the full Microsoft Office suite, including Advanced Excel and Visio or equivalent.Flexcube (full front and back-end user experience) essential.SQL experience.Workflow application.Digiata.Desired Experience & QualificationRelevant tertiary qualification.At least an Advanced Business analysis certification.Competencies and Ideal Personality AttributesKeen attention to detail, passionate about exceptional client services.Organised and structured.Proven analytical and critical thinking skills.Unquestionable integrity.Proactive, self-managed, with a sense of urgency and completely outcomes driven.Positive and professional, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to be agile in approach, i.e., to adjust and adapt quickly and change direction where necessary.Well versed in the BABOK tools and techniques.
