MedIT provides information technology support for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine. Our mission is to partner and collaborate with clients, University, and third parties to determine value based, sustainable technology solutions that enable the Faculty to achieve its academic mission.
As Senior AV Specialist, you will play a critical role in assessing and integrating high quality audio-visual (AV) solutions and infrastructure. Using your in-depth knowledge of AV systems and design, you will conduct needs assessments, analyze current systems and make recommendations on solutions that meet our wide-spread and evolving needs. Your proven initiative and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment will be essential to our team's success in driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Your responsibilities will include: Contributing to the design, set-up and maintenance of audio-visual systemsProducing complex audio visual drawings to support audio visual integration packagesPlanning and implementing components of AV projects, including rollout plans for new audio-visual technologiesConducting needs assessments, analyzing the effectiveness of existing systems and recommending improvements to better serve user objectivesCreating complex and technical documentation and user support guidesImplementing testing plans and scenarios, as well as training end-users on AV systemsProcuring audio visual systems and technologies including collaborating on cost estimates and advising on cost, feasibility and impact of different solutionsEssential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experienceMinimum four years of recent and relevant experience assessing, recommending, contributing to the design of AV systems, preferably in a post-secondary, government or healthcare settingDemonstrated experience producing complex audio visual drawings to support audio visual integration packagesDemonstrated experience supporting existing IP videoconferencing and digital media streaming technologies, as well as web-based collaboration and conference technologiesExperience with both PC-based and dedicated videoconferencing, audio-visual, collaboration, and presentation technologiesExperience managing and implementing projects and priorities, including a strong understanding of the application of project management methodologyDemonstrated experience procuring audio visual systems and technologies, including collaborating on cost estimates and advising on cost, feasibility and impact of different solutionsDemonstrated experience working with Crestron systems, with advanced skills in CrestronIn-depth and demonstrated knowledge with AV technology and ability to keep abreast of developments in AV technology, with a strong emphasis on user experienceProficiency with industry-standard AV technologies, including videoconferencing and web streaming products, gatekeepers, gateways, MCUs, firewall traversal tools, networking and standard communication protocols (like H.323, SIP, and H.264 protocols)Comprehensive knowledge of integration AV control systems and Ethernet networking, TCP/IP controlsStrong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systemsProficiency in media formats, such as MPEG, QuickTime, AVI and Windows Media, digital media recording and editing tools (i.e. Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, and Final Cut), and Learning Management SystemsExcellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skillsSuperior organizational and analytical/diagnostic skillsMust be self-motivated, results oriented, a quick learner with a strong customer service focus and impeccable attention to detailWorks well under pressure in a fast paced environment, meets strict deadlines and has sound judgmentWorks effectively both independently and as part of a teamAssets (Nonessential): Technical certifications in Polycom, Crestron, AVIXA, CTS/CTS-DTo be successful in this role you will be: Goal orientedIntuitiveOrganizedClosing Date: 10/16/2024, 11:59PM ET
