Job PurposeThe purpose of this position is to provide strategic design, as well as independent, professional quality assurance to reduce the risk of the organisation and any clients. This role is responsible for working closely with the Director of Technology and the IT department.Duties & ResponsibilitiesKEY ACCOUNTABILITIESStrategic FunctionProvide strategic design and advice from the outset of any project from an Information Technology perspective.Provide strategic design advice and input into best maintenance and operations practices and perspective.Operational FunctionsEnsure effective results-based management of information technology database systems.Select and employ Knowledge Base System (KBS) to store various decisions/advice made during program implementation.Develop workplan with IT Advisor and other stakeholders in terms of IT services.Supervise IT Advisors on ongoing database maintenance and plan upgrades to existing databases as appropriate.Work with external consultants to formulate Management Information System (MIS) to combine all collected data and expose it through a common M&E interface for Management and Project Managers to get an overview of achievements from various investment funds.Collaborate with various project officers, managers, and other stakeholders to achieve a common understanding of their project objectives and apply new MOU/Guideline into the system.Supervise IT Advisor who maintains database with Finance and Contract Administration Unit to ensure consistency in budgeting vs output/activity planning.Desired Experience & QualificationQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEDiploma in IT or Informatics or equivalent qualification.5 years post-qualification working experience.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGENET Framework technology experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory is an advantage.Hardware and software troubleshooting prowess, with the ability to critically analyze a symptom, diagnose a fault, plan, and take appropriate action on equipment including PCs, printers, multifunction copiers, sound boards, lighting equipment, and networking.Knowledge of hardware components and hardware troubleshooting procedures.Knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and desktop software.Microsoft Active Directory skills including creating, deleting, and modifying user accounts, setting up e-mail, home, and directories.Networking knowledge including familiarity with the TCP/IP v4 and v6 protocol, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, ICMP, as well as the ability to crimp CAT5e and install wall boxes.Ability to effectively operate theatre equipment such as sound boards, lighting equipment, and public address systems.Ability to seek solutions to problems using one's own resources.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES FOR NON-MANAGERSAchievement Orientation: Having the sustained energy and determination in the face of obstacles to set and meet challenging targets, in compliance with quality, time, and diversity standards, and delivering the required business results.Flexibility: The ability to adapt to and work with a variety of situations, individuals, and groups.Teamwork: Working cooperatively, across cultures and organisational boundaries to achieve shared goals.Self-awareness: Understanding of your own emotions and 'triggers' and how they impact your own behaviour and/or the behaviour of others.Customer Service Orientation: The willingness and ability to give priority to customers, delivering high-quality services which meet their needs.
