Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
to join the team of expanding hotel group. The ideal candidate will manage financial records, ensure compliance with industry standards, and support the financial health of the establishment. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience in the hospitality sector.
Reports To:
Finance Manager/ Financial Director
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
Record daily transactions from the bank statements.
Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet schedules on a monthly basis.
Monitor and maintain cash flow on the individual properties
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue accounts.
Reconciliation:
Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
Reporting:
Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and hospitality industry standards.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Collaboration:
Work closely with management and other departments to provide financial insights and support.
Software Utilization:
Utilize accounting and other software (Xero, eFTSure, Dext, Mews)
Stay updated on new software and tools that enhance financial operations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Relevant degree or certification
Salary: approx. ZAR 50k CTC
