Financial Accountant

My client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to manage and oversee the financial activities of their organisation. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, contributing to the financial health and success of the company. This role is based in Sandton, Johannesburg North. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with local accounting standards and company policies. Oversee the general ledger, ensuring correct classification of transactions. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly. Prepare management accounts and annual financial statements. Conduct month-end and year-end closing procedures for timely reporting. Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and payable. Analyse financial performance against budget and forecasts, offering insights. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial projections. Collaborate with internal teams to improve financial processes. Support external audits and ensure regulatory compliance. Stay updated on accounting standards, tax laws, and regulations. Identify and implement process improvements for efficient operations. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles. 2 to 5 years post-articles experience within the retail industry. Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax laws, and South African regulatory requirements.
