Semi-Skilled Mechanic (Trailer Mechanic)

Job FunctionThe incumbent will be responsible for breakdowns, maintenance, repairing, and performing services on trailers.
Key Performance Areas

Inspect braking systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating conditions.
Adhere to company regulations, HSSE, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Raise trucks and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
The incumbent will be required to do shift work and standby when necessary.

Qualifications Required
Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent (Preferably Grade 12).
Skills and Experience Required

2-3 years' experience working on trailers (WABCO, SAF, Hendred).
Refurbishing, spray painting, and general welding experience will be an advantage.
Valid code 08 Drivers Licence (Code 14 with PDP will be advantageous).
Willing and able to do standby, work shifts, overtime, including weekends.
Dangerous Goods & Bulk tanker experience will be an advantage.
