Description This is a PRN position, we will accept applications on a rolling basis.
Compensation and Benefits: $25.00 starting rate + experience $5.00 hourly differential when employee is actively transporting clients. $1.14 hourly Cost of Living Adjustment differential added to base rate. Remote Work: This position does not work remotely.
Position Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Six (6) months or more of previous work experience as a security officer, law enforcement, or prior military experience strongly desired. Must be at least 21 years of age. Satisfactory driving record, with no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years. No history of driving under the influence.
Job Purpose: Responsible for providing secure transport for patients. Promote a safe environment for patients and employees. Coordinate care with other clinical and medical staff as necessary, and as directed per Multidisciplinary Treatment Plans. Interact with clients and provide support, structure, stability, and positive role modeling.
Knowledge, Skill & Ability: Must possess skills and knowledge necessary to assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, employees and visitors. CPR/BLS Certification for Healthcare Provider prior to independent patient care required. WELLE Training/Certification required prior to independent patient care. Must have ability to perform duties required by training to provide verbal de-escalation and physical and mechanical restraints if necessary (Training for certification will be provided). Uphold current education and skills related to physical management of individuals who are being escorted off campus or via vehicle. Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access. Ability to operate standard office equipment including calculator, copy machine, fax, and multi-line telephone. Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all personnel. Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes hectic environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to exercise frequent independent judgment and initiative. Knowledge of Colorado traffic laws and safe driving conditions during various times of year. Ability to use GPS and navigate unfamiliar areas and outreach for support as needed. Ability to stay focused while driving with potential distractions present in the vehicle. Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer or while driving. Long hours may be spent behind the wheel while transporting passengers, who may be distracting to the driving employee. Employee must be able to travel between Mind Springs sites. May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental health conditions. Possible exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
