Job Description:Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Assist operations personnel to implement agreed guidelines, rules and recipe for the processing plants.Audit compliance to "recipe" and liaise with plant personnel.Provide/liaise with external resources to conduct agreed plant surveys/audit processes.Manage metallurgical talent assigned to technical function in processing area.Recommend technical corrective action to operation's production personnel.Monitor, Trend, Interpret, and Report plant Key Process Parameters for discussion with central technical structure.Advise process operating personnel on refractory selection.Processing test work on the plants.Monitor, Trend, Interpret and Report Key Process Parameters.Identify ongoing potential areas for plant process improvement.Ongoing support to plant production team to achieve operational goals.Facilitate technology transfer from centre.Project execution of agreed audit work & plant surveys (plant diagnostics).Provide detailed analyses of process control/plant performance relationships.Refractory selection for different applications.Review furnace measurement data to proactively identify potential problems.This role is at a GBF 6 level reporting to the Manager Processing.Qualifications:Grade 12Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or chemistry degree/diplomaExperienceAt least 7 years post qualification Plant experience in metallurgy development projects and line management
