Job DescriptionThe Section Engineer is a 2.13.3.1 appointment in terms of the MHS Act and is responsible for providing operational service and support to the Resident Engineer.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Ensuring adherence to site-specific and overall Anglo American standards.Multi-disciplinary team management.Strategic asset management including planned maintenance and common reliability practices.Safety management.Labour structure and training management.Effective budgeting controls (OPEX and CAPEX).Management of major shutdowns.Oversee plant projects (within limit of authority).Ensuring adherence to legal compliance.Manage plant rotables and spares.Carry out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line maintenance.This role is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Resident Engineer. QualificationsDegree / Diploma in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical.Government Certificate of Competency in Mines and Works.Experience, Knowledge, and Skills 3-5 years post-GCC Engineering qualification experience.Plant experience will be advantageous (Crushers, conveyors, mills, flotation, and filters, etc).Experience in open cast mining (Drills, shovels, trucks, electrical and water reticulation, etc).Proficient in computer literacy – Microsoft Office.Proficiency in English.Additional InformationWho We Are We aim to lead the industry by pursuing ever safer and more responsible ways of working, demonstrating integrity and showing care and respect for people and the planet.
