Job ResponsibilitiesControl, manage, plan and co-ordinate Import Control, Export Control, and Road Freight.Effectively administer the full Shipping Controller role, including legal compliance and cost control, and shipments documentation.Co-ordinate and consolidate shipments from suppliers in the most cost-effective manner.Negotiate freight rates and sailing and flight schedules to ensure timely clearance and delivery.Track shipments regarding timelines, custom releases, or detentions.Assist with import & export quotations via sea and road.Advise on planned deliveries and warehouse intake.Assist accounts with relevant documents and signatures for payment of foreign and local invoices.Negotiate rates with various export agents, shipping lines, and road transporters.Negotiate transport and delivery of shipments via various modes of transport at the best rate.Track and trace the departure and arrival of shipments.Keep up to date with tariff consulting and custom regulations.Ensure shipment files are completed in accordance with SOP.Prepare reports on all pending shipments.Prepare status reports for management and clients.Perform general duties and ad hoc tasks as required.Desired Experience & QualificationSouth African citizen and ID, residing in Johannesburg.Matric (Preference will be given to a candidate with related tertiary education).Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Logistics is preferable.Min 3-4 years' experience in Sea freight.Excellent communication skills in English at all levels.Computer literate with good Excel skills.Exceptional confidentiality, attention to detail, and accuracy are essential.Attribute and Behaviour RequirementsExceptional attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.Excellent organisational ability, goal-oriented, and time management skills.Good composure, polite, well-groomed, presentable, friendly, reliable, and professional.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment.Ability to meet deadlines and execute last-minute demands.Common sense, pride in work, ownership, and delivery-driven attitude.Integrity, good judgement, self-starter, and quick to resolve issues.Excellent flexibility, networking, presentation, and communication skills.Accountability, honesty, ethical behaviour, and trustworthiness.Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently.Enthusiastic, problem-solving team player with a positive attitude.Proactive, able to plan, prioritise, and multi-task.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and achieving collective goals.Set a personal example in character, organisational skills, commitment, and work habits.Package & RemunerationR15K - R18K
