Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue for the organization.
Build and maintain relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and positive word-of-mouth referrals.
Monitor sales metrics and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and growth.
Train and motivate sales staff to reach their goals and meet performance targets.
Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and operations, to ensure coordinated efforts and successful outcomes.
Attend industry events and maintain knowledge of market trends to stay ahead of the competition.
Manage budgets and expenses related to sales activities and initiatives.
Conduct regular performance evaluations of sales team members and provide feedback and coaching for improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and ethical standards.
Actively pursue new business opportunities and seek out potential partnerships for the organization.
Customer Service:
Drive service standards within the company so that all customers are treated to the very best service.
Continually monitor and review the company's customer feedback and ensure that appropriate action is taken to rectify adverse trends identified.
Ensure that customers always comply with the customer rules and procedures.
People Management:
Ensure all employees in their area of responsibility are effectively managed; always ensure adherence to Human Resource policies.
Ensure that all staff are aware in all areas of their responsibilities of the company's developments, policies, practices, and procedures.
Ensure thorough communication to ensure that employee-related matters are effectively addressed.
Ensure continuous employee development and improvement.
Ensure performance management objectives are achieved.
Liaise with the HR Department for guidance, advice, and assistance on HR-related matters.
Financial Management:
Develop an operating budget for the sales department and ensure that budget goals are attained.
Assure that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently utilized.
Identify, review, and research opportunities for improvements and innovations that will maximize and improve the overall performance of the company's properties.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in business administration or a related field.
Minimum 6 years in a similar role.
At least 10 years' experience in the hospitality or tourism industry.
Game reserve/safari and wildlife knowledge and exposure will be an added advantage.
Experience in Res request, Expedia, and POS.
Must have existing relationships with international and local DMCs.
Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.
Committed to continuous education through trade shows, workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
Strong business sense and industry expertise.
Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
